Though the app store have had some alternatives for this functionality, a new app called Red Laser, claims to shine out thanks to its improved usability. It’s been developed by a bunch of developers who call themselves Occipital, and believe it or not, it even has a developer API!

Zen Bound is part of a trend of iPhone applications which aim to relax the user.

It is a very relaxing and engaging game, which is basically about wrapping ropes about objects in such a way to cover them completely.

Something to be enjoyed at a slow pace: a game where a high score is not the goal. Zen Bound is designed to challenge in a subtle way, it does not attack or force the player.

The game provides direct interaction with the objects in the screen thus has almost no learning curve. Produced by Finnish developers, it’s available from the App Store for $4.99.

Alarm clocks that are sensitive to your sleep patterns are not a new idea. However, they are quite expensive (150-200$) and they require, apart from the main body of the device, wrist bands and data cables.

Russian developers have created an app that simulates a similar functionality with Easy Wakeup.  You should in addition find a wrist-attachment and use it to attach the iPhone to your body. The application, then, by analysing your moves during the night, will wake you up in a pre-determined interval where you are likely to be in light sleep phase. The result is waking up more refreshed.

The app lacks basic functionality like setting up your own songs or generated ringtones as the alarm sound, but we suppose those will be added soon.

Here is an application that doesn’t have much functional value, but it covers this up very well with its stylishness.

Katana application simulates the legendary Japanese samurai sword. The same way you would flick it open with your finger, you flick the virtual sword up the screen of the iPhone. After this, by moving your iPhone, you can have your virtual katana generate the cool swoosh sounds as it swiftly splits the air.

Katana can be downloaded through the App Store and sells for $0.99.

Last week we mentioned Camera Bag which lets you apply awesome effects to the photos you take with your iPhone. Today we came across 2 web sites that are dedicated to photos taken with Camera Bag with an iPhone. Hard to believe these awesome shots coming out of a 2 megapixel camera!

First site is Just What I See from Greg Schmigel. Greg has a great portfolio of iPhone shots, and seems to be quite famous around. Other one is Apple iPhone Photography, another dedicated portfolio of images taken by iPhone using Camera Bag. It’s fairly new, but pictures reflect the soul of the moment. Only difference between these 2 sites are that, Greg uses image manipulation, whereas Apple iPhone Photography does not touch the images before upload.

There are also iPhone dedicated Flickr groups, iPhone Photography and Camera Bag pool. Do not forget to check them out as well.
